Winchester Model 61 Octagon, .22 long rifle cal. pump action rifle. Serial #72811, mfg. 1947. Good condition. The rare octagon barreled Model 61, but sadly a campfire cowboy has drilled two holes in the left side of the receiver (see photo). 24" octagon barrel has a very good bore. Bluing shows quite a bit of wear and is 40% at best - ready for a reblue. Buttstock has some water stains and small cracks against the steel buttplate. Good tight action. Buckhorn rear sight. Post front sight. Good candidate for a complete restoration and with this bore and its rarity it's worth it! The four holes could be welded shut before the reblue. Matching serials. C&R OK.
