Description
Maynard Carbine, .50 cal. single shot percussion. Serial #711, mfg. 1860 by Edward Maynard of Mass. Arms Co. of Chicopee Falls. Antique. Good condition. Common Civil War carbine that was used by Union forces. This specimen has gray and brown patina on all surfaces. Vivid maker's name and patent dates of 1851 and 1859. Nice mechanics. Inspector's stamp on left wrist (see photo). Saddle ring bar and saddle ring. Wood has quite a few marks and some soldier "art" on the right side. Steel buttplate. 20" round barrel has a very good bore. A must for any Civil War carbine collection! Antique. Gunrunner West item.
