Marlin Model 97 Deluxe, .22 cal. lever action.  Serial #401955.  Good condition.  24” octagonal barrel has clean bore with worn lands, 85% original finish turning brown with crisp address markings.  Sighting equipment consists of Beeches folding front sight, two-leaf folding rear and Lyman folding tang sight.  Receiver and lever have no remaining case color, turning patina.  Stock and forearm have good original varnish, slightly worn checkering with numerous light handling marks.  Beautiful butt plate!  Lever action works fine.  Sweet old Marlin from the “Golden Era’!   C&R OK.
