Remington Model 1858 New Model Army, .44 cal. single action percussion revolver.  Serial #37778. Good condition.  Popular Union officer's sidearm during the Civil War. 8" barrel has very good bore with strong rifling. Fixed sights.   Barrel and frame have very good original finish, turning brown, with some fine corrosion on top.  Cylinder has old brown finish with index marks.    Brass trigger guard is in good condition.  Smooth wood grips are very good with faint inspector’s mark.  Single action works excellent.  Very nice piece of Civil War history!  Antique, can ship to your door.
