Gewehr 98, 8x57mm cal. bolt action military rifle.    Serial # 6995, mfg. 1899.   Fair condition.   30” barrel has good bore with worn rifling, marked “S” ahead of breech. Correct sights.  Barrel and receiver have old brown finish.  Non-matching numbers,.  Trigger guard and floor plate are ill-fitting. Stock has crack behind receiver, numerous light marks.  Bolt action works smoothly.  Authentic WWI-ear Mauser!  C&R OK.
