W. Stokes Kirk, Springfield-Krag Model 1898 “Short Rifle.  Serial #369891, mfg. 1904.  Fair condition.  24” barrel has decent bore with worn rifling.  Barrel and receiver have little remaining finish.  Stock has usual numerous handling marks.  Mode 1892 rear sight.  These were made up from surplus parts by W. Stokes Kirk in Philadelphia and sold thru catalogs.  Action is typical Krag - butter smooth! An interesting variation for the Krag collector.  C&R OK.
