JC Higgins Model 583.18, 16 ga. bolt action shotgun.  Serial #NSN.  Good condition.  2 3/4" chamber fixed MOD choke.  Sears Roebuck catalog shotgun.  26" plain barrel has a very good bore, white painted bead front sight and white paint on the barrel band.  70% blue finish with even peppering over the metal.  Smooth wood stock is in very good condition with some age.  JC Higgins red rubber butt pad is dry.  13 1/2" LOP.  C&R OK.
