Japanese Arisaka Type 44, 6.5mm cal. bolt action military carbine.  Serial #00635, mfg. in Kokura Arsenal in Japan. Very good condition.  Standard Jap issue during WWII. 20" carbine length barrel with strong rifling, but some darkness.  Made at Kokura arsenal and is a First Series production.  Strong 90% blue finish with light scattered pitting, mostly on trigger guard.  Mum has been ground on the receiver.  Bolt is non-matching, but is in good operating order - has some age discoloration to the finish.  The folding bayonet is in excellent condition.  The stock has numerous dings as would be expected for a combat weapon.  Very rare and desirable Japanese rifle.
