Swiss Vetterli M78, .41 Swiss RF cal. bolt action military rifle.  Serial #158140, mfg. Bern, Switzerland.  Antique. Good condition.  33” barrel has worn bore with decent rifling.  Barrel and receiver have 60% original finish, turning patina, crisp markings.  Barrel bands and trigger guard have been refinished and parkerized.  Stock has been sanded smooth and re-finished with tung oil.  Bolt action works fine.  Beautifully made – interesting example of one of the first successful repeating military rifles.  NOTE: These make one of the finest display antique firearms out there - always guaranteed as the ultimate conversation piece.
