Stevens Model 44, .25RF cal. single shot rifle. Serial #63976.  Fair condition.  24” half-octagon barrel has poor, rough bore.   Barrel and receiver have 10% original finish, mostly brown with surface corrosion, some dinged screws.  Non-original rear sight.  Stock and forearm are very good with old original finish - nicks and hits. Correct butt plate.  Action is tight and functions fine.  A good restoration candidate - resleeve it to .22 caliber or higher.  C&R OK.
