Mauser 98K "bnz 43", 8mm Mauser cal. military bolt action rifle.  Serial #6272, mfg. by Steyr, 1943, Germany.  Excellent condition.  Standard Nazi troop issue during WWII. Matching serial numbers of most parts.  24" barrel has strong rifling with some darkness in the grooves, 98% blue finish with minimal wear.  Most likely a depot rework rifle.  Most of the serial numbers appear to be hand stamped and electro-penciled.  The bolt is numbered on the top rather than the underside.  Eagle/SSZZA4 stamp on the barrel.  The bolt release lever is serialized 68 with a stamped 72 behind it.  The magazine floor plate has a single "S" behind the screw.  Smooth wood military furniture is very good and has been refinished.  The bottom of the stock is stamped with the matching serial number, an eagle and skull.  Has an unnumbered metal butt plate, cleaning rod and burgundy colored unmarked leather sling.  No visible import mark.  Also includes a good condition 42 dated, maker coded CUL bayonet with 10" blue blade, 15" overall with a matching number scabbard.  The blue blade and scabbard have some finish wear, very nice bakelite grips and a few small dings in the scabbard.  Nice WWII battle rifle and bayonet.  C&R OK.
