Winchester Model 53, .25-20 cal. lever action rifle.  Serial #4003, mfg. 1925.  Very good condition.  22” barrel has excellent bore.  Nickel steel barrel has 85% original finish with crisp address markings, some light surface rust..  Receiver and lever have 40% original finish, turning patina, good screws.  Stock and forearm have very good original finish with some heavy handling marks.  Correct steel butt plate.  Lever action works smoothly.  A straight, honest little 53 – rarely seen!  C&R OK.
