Description
Winchester Model 94 "Bribe Rifle", .30-30 cal. lever action carbine. Serial #1847650, mfg. 1952. Good condition. Unique Wyoming story about this Model 94: This rifle was part of a bribe to secure work at the infamous Teapot Dome - Naval Reserve and resulted in the first owner going to prison in 1982. The rifle then passed through several owners in the oil industry, hence the brass plaque afixed to the left side of the buttstock (see close-up photo). 20" barrel has an excellent shiny bore. 80% blue. Some scars/varnish wear on the stock. Steel buttplate. Buckhorn rear sights. Ramp front sight without hood. Sling swivel stud in buttstock bottom and on the magazine tube. An interesting piece of Wyoming oil industry history! C&R OK. Gunrunner West item.
