Ballard No. 4 "Perfection", .45-2.6 (.45-100) Sharps Straight cal. single shot rifle. Serial #C837, mfg. by Ballard Rifle & Cartridge Co. LLC, Cody, Wyoming in 2008. Black Powder. Excellent condition. Special order late production Ballard from the famous Cody company with extra fancy tiger-strip walnut stock and forearm. Only four rifle out of this production with this quality of figure and high grade. 32-inch heavy octagon No. 4 barrel has an 1/18" twist and excellent shiny bore. Shot very little. Case-coloring on the frame is 100%. Double set-triggers. Originally chambered and so marked as a ".45-90", the chamber was recut to .45-2.6 (100) by master gunsmith Earl Hines using a Manson Match Reamer and then hand-lapped. Will also shoot .45-90's. Sights include a Red River windage adjustment "Beech" type front two-post - one hooded front sight. Cody Ballard adjustable tang sight. Rear dovetail is naked, but the Cody ballard buckhorn type sight is included. A couple of light marks on the top barrel flat where the buckhorn sight was mounted. Weight with sights is 11 lbs. 10 oz - legal for BPCR Silhouette. Includes 25 new Jamison brass cases in .45-110 that can be trimmed down to 100. Gorgeous competition rifle that is just right for Quigley-type matches. Black Powder only. Gunrunner West item.
