U.S. Model 1918 Browning Automatic Rifle Jump Box/Scabbard. Mfg. by Boyt Harness in 1943. Model D-6065. Rare WWII scabbard/jump box for a BAR constructed of leather, steel and wood - very sturdy with side steel pieces covered in leather and heavy to protect that heavy machine gun. 48" by 8" by 3". These were used for jumps, jeeps, troop carriers and even horseback. Marked with model number and "Boyt 43" under top flap. Nice leather - a repair with a copper rivet on one of the leather hinge pieces (see photo). Two female parts that hook into a truck rack, sling or handle. Rare find! A must have for a BAR owner!
