U.S. Colt Model 1911, .45 acp cal. auto military pistol. Serial #89023, mfg. 1914. Very good condition. Standard U.S. officer's issue during WWI and WWII. Wonderful early 1911 military with 90% blue and vivid markings. "WCP" inspection mark on left side of frame. 5" barrel has an excellent bore. "United States Property" on left side of frame. 1913 patent date and address and Rampant Colt on the left side of the slide. Right side of slide: "Model of 1911 U.S. Army" on right side of slide. Some muzzle wear and grips strap fading as expected. Checkered walnut grips have some smoothness. Hand-dipped two-tone magazine is excellent with lanyard loop on mag. Lanyard loop on butt. A couple of rub spots on the frame. An outstanding early World War I .45 auto! C&R OK. Gunrunner West item.
