Description
Colt Single Action Army, .45 Long Colt cal. revolver.   Serial #110965, mfg. 1885.  Antique. First Generation.  Very good condition.  Beautiful looking Colt with the Colt letter stating a ship date of January 7, 1885, confirming nickel finish and 5 1/2” barrel.  Originaly shipped with pearl grips.  The nickel finish appears to have been renickeled at some point - some signs of old pitting underneath.  Barrel address and patent dates are somewhat light but still easily readable.  The barrel address reads  “Colt’s PT. F.A. MFG. Co. Hartford CT. U.S.A.”.   The  5 ½” barrel has a very good bore - lands are a little worn and shows some light frosting.  Black hard rubber checkered grips with "Prancing Pony" are in excellent condition with some light surface scratches. Matching  serial numbers on the frame , triggerguard and butt.   Cylinder face is “L” marked.  Back strap has a name engraved that appears to be “Hollis I. Eaton” (see photo). There is a second line under the name that is not clear enough to read.  Action works and indexes nicely. Screws have been turned and show some marring.    A very handsome nickel Colt from the turn of the century.   Includes Colt factory letter.  A pretty Old Colt! Antique can ship to your door.
