Sharps New Model 1863 Cartridge Conversion, .50-70 cal. single shot carbine. Serial #C27280, mfg. 1867 in Hartford, Conn. Very good antique condition. 22” six-groove round barrel has excellent rifling - good condition - with some light pitting. Frame and sideplate have vivid markings and muted case color. Fading blue on barrel is 80%. Stock and forearm have good finish with minor handling marks, correct “DFC” ribbon cartouche on left side of buttstock. Barrel and lock plate have excellent address and patent markings. Front sight has brass blade. Correct R.S. Lawrence patent ladder rear sight. Saddle bar and ring on left side. Falling block action is tight and hammer cocks nicely. A beautiful specimen – correct in every detail! Great Post-Civil War Sharps! Antique, can ship to your door. Gunrunner West item.
