Colt US Army 1903, .38 Long Colt cal. double action revolver.  Serial #4028, mfg . 1903.  Very good condition.  6” barrel has excellent bore, fixed sights.  Barrel and frame have beautiful deep highly polished Colt blue with some scratch marks and surface corrosion along barrel, crisp inspectors marks.  Cylinder has good high-polish blue with edge and flute wear and index marks.  “Fire-blued trigger and polished hammer are excellent.  Walnut grips have very good smooth finish with some dings on bottom, good inspectors marks.  Bottom of butt is stamped: “US Army Model 1903, No. 28”.  Lanyard ring present.  Double action is stiff, but works fine.  Beautifully made, but not powerful enough to stop fanatical Moro tribesmen in the Philippines, which led to the development of the famous .45 cal. 1911.  Lots of history here!  C&R OK.
