Mauser Model 98, 8mm bolt action military rifle.  Serial #8794d, mfg. Germany in 1944.  Very good condition.  Receiver ring marked “byf 44”.  Matching receiver and bolt.  Different number on trigger guard - no numbers on painted barrel bands.  24" barrel has a decent bore with worn rifling. Correct military sights.   Barrel and receiver have 80% original finish with crisp markings.   Wood has been sanded and refinished.  Stock  has an unknown crest on the right side, steel butt plate.  Unmarked leather sling is in good shape.  No visible import mark.  Bolt action works fine - a piece of WWII history.  C&R OK.
