Smith & Wesson K-38 Combat Masterpiece, .38 Special cal. double action revolver.  Serial #K22777, mfg. 1954.  Good condition.  Nice pre-Model 14 with 4” barrel - excellent bore, ramp front sight and micro-adjustable rear.  Barrel has 80% blue with heavy muzzle wear, yellow paint on front sight.  Frame have 90% blue with edge wear.  Cylinder is 70% with flute and index wear.  Ejector rod has worn knurling.   Hammer and trigger have faded case colors.   5-screw frame. S&W checkered walnut grips are very good, except for hairline crack in left grip.  Matching serials on barrel/cylinder/frame. Double action works fine and locks up tightly.  A good shooter.  C&R OK.
