Description
Remington Model 1858 Army, .44 cal. single action percussion revolver. Serial #56264, mfg. 1861. Civil War. Good condition. 7 1/2" octagon barrel has visible rifling but with spots of moderate to heavy pitting. Fixed sights. Most of the markings are gone, likely due to an old polish or refinish. Cylinder has turned to patina. Tool marks around the rod retaining screw on both sides of the frame. Brass trigger guard is good with a “P” proof mark. Smooth wood grips are in very good shape and are unmarked. Cylinder turns and action works nicely. Neat piece of American history that was likely used during the Civil War. Antique so it can be shipped directly to you.
