Wonderful Savage "figure 8"revolver from the Civil War era with a nice smooth patina and wonderful mechanics (most of these don't work because of their complicated guts). 7 1/8" octagon barrel has a good bore. Vivid maker's address and 1860 patent date on top strap. Smooth walnut grips have some light marks. Interesting stamps on the grips of "S.M. Oakes" and "O.O. CA --" on the right grip panel. A dandy! Very collectible and desirable in this condition! Antique. Gunrunner West item.
