U.S. Colt Model 1911 "U.S. Navy", .45 cal. auto military pistol. Serial #563068, mfg. 1918. Very good condition. Don't get too hyperventilated… This is a very interesting Model 1911, but it's not pure "U.S. Navy" except for the slide which is clearly marked on the right side as "Model of 1911 U.S. Navy" and the left side Colt address and Feb. 14, 1911 patent date - vivid. The frame serial takes you to a "Black Army" of 1918. WWI checkered diamond grips are quite smooth - surely been on patrol. Two-tone WWI magazine is correct. The gun is mostly gray. "Eagle Head 6" inspector's mark on left side of the frame over the magazine release button. Bore is frosty. Lanyard loop. Quite a piece! Wow! Lots of military history here.
