Description
Confederate Colt Model 1860 Copy, .44 cal. percussion single action revolver. Serial #15957. Good condition. Civil War vintage. The rebels attempted to copy the famous Colt and their results worked, but are crude by Colt standards - the barrel address is all large block letters (see photos) and the patent date is large as well. Round brass triggerguard. Smooth walnut grips are very good. Crude scenes that attempt to copy the Colt stagecoach and fighting scenes are still visible. The cylinder is mostly gray and the scenes visible. Works fine. Some missing nipples. Matching barrel, frame and triggerguard. 7 1/2" octagon barrel is dark. Includes an authentic looking leather holster in good condition without flap. These are fun to collect and they are all different due to the lack of raw materials, expertise and shifting of factories during the Civil War. Antique - can ship right to your doorstep. Gunrunner West item.
