U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Carbine, .45-70 cal. single shot military. Serial #187675, mfg. 1882. Very good condition. Interesting Trapddoor, but my charts show no Carbines were produced in the 1882, so draw your own conclusions. 22" round barrel has a good/very good bore - barrel is mostly gray. Ladder rear sight with globe type front sight. Blue on lockplate and breech top is 90% and nice. Crack at wrist (see photo). Wood is overall very good. Saddle bar and ring. Vivid markings and serial number. Correct lockplate and breech top markings. "U.S." marked steel buttplate. Brass tack on top has "17". Little section of initials carved in right side of buttstock (see photo). Cleaning kit in butt trap. Looks like a good shooter! Antique. Can ship right to your door step. Gunrunner West item.
