Spencer Carbine, .50 cal. Post-War Alteration.  Serial #42348.  Very good condition.  22” barrel has shiny 3-groove rifling, correct sights, 70% blue with some light surface corrosion.  Receiver and lever have fading case colors with good screws.  Stock and forearm have excellent finish with some chipping behind receiver – probably due to arsenal re-stocking.  Correct “Stabler Cutoff” ahead of trigger and “ESA” inspector marking on stock.  These were altered at Springfield Armory post-war.  Lever action works fine.  A rare variant of the issue Spencer carbine – a great addition to any Civil War collection!   Antique – can ship to your door.
