Marlin Model 1895, .45-70 cal. lever action rifle. Serial #154962, mfg. 1897. Antique. Good condition. Mighty interesting specimen in the right caliber and configuration - a SUPER candidate for total restoration. 26" round barrel has a good to very good bore with sharp rifling and no pitting - could polish out to excellent. Has been nicely cut-down to half magazine. Some fading blue on barrel - 50% and some brighter blue on the left side of the receiver. Buckhorn rear sight. Post front sight. Crack on left side of forearm (see photo). Wrist has been repaired with a pin (see photo). Crescent butt. Buttstock has been been sanded and is below steel crescent buttplate. Nice mechanics. "Marlin Safety" on top of receiver which is correct. Now here's some REAL potential for the greatest restoration you've ever seen. Or shoot it like it is! A classic vintage lever! Antique.
