Colt New Service, .455 Eley cal. double action revolver.   Serial #135689, mfg. 1917.  Good condition.  5 ½” barrel has excellent bore, fixed sights with some muzzle wear and scratch marks.  Frame, has 75% finish with edge wear and slightly dinged screws.  Cylinder has light flute and index wear.  British proof marks and Broad Arrow markings. Back strap has several crossed out marks, possible indicating various postings of the owner.  Colt hard rubber grips are a bit oversize – may be replacements.  Possibly and officer’s personal firearm – interesting piece of WWI history!   C&R OK.
