Winchester 94 Semi-Deluxe, .38-55 cal. lever action rifle.  Serial #173623, mfg. 1903.  Very good condition.  26” half-octagon barrel has excellent bore.  Sighting equipment consists of gold bead front sight, open rear and Lyman folding tang sight.  Barrel has 85% blue with crisp markings, some light scratch marks towards muzzle.  Half magazine.  Receiver has 80% thinning blue with edge wear and fine scratch marks.  Receiver screws are excellent. Lever and hammer have 20% case colors.  Forearm has good finish with worn checkering and some light handling marks.  Forend cap has dinged screws.  Butt stock has very good finish and checkering with few light handling marks and some finish wear on right side.  Factory letter confirms configuration, except that butt plate is smooth metal, not checkered as in letter. Lever action works smoothly.  Beautiful 94 in an interesting configuration!   C&R OK.
