Winchester Model 1876, .45-60 cal. lever action rifle. Serial #42627, mfg. 1886. Good to very good condition. Grand old frontier rifle with 28" round barrel. Bore has some light ring pitting, but nice rifling. Rifle has a nice smooth patina all over with some fading blue on barrel and magazine tube. Stock appears to have been sanded long and has a small crack coming off the lower tang and crack in the wood and repair on the right side of the wrist against the receiver metal. Brass carrier has ".45-60", but Cody data sheet shows this rifle left the Winchester factory on February 22, 1887 as a .45-75 caliber, round barrel and "military wind gauge" (ladder sight) - which it still has, but is missing the elevator sliding piece. Crescent butt. Post front sight. Magazine tube is nice without dents. Marks in the wood. Good tight action. Dust cover. A nice above average example of a classic vintage Winchester! Antique.
