Description
U.S. Model 1917 Colt, .45 acp cal. double action military revolver. Serial #256737, mfg. 1919. Very good condition. Nice old warrior with 5 1/2" barrel, excellent bore, 85% blue and has had obvious military action - has been on patrol. Vivid markings including "U.S. Property" on bottom of barrel, Rampant Colt on frame and butt is marked: "U.S. Army Model 1917, No. 104956". Great mechanics. Fixed sights at rear with high blade front and non-glare areas on either side of blade. Walnut grips have the usual war marks. 1917 dated lanyard is original to the handgun. Includes a U.S. marked Model 1910 Garrison belt and buckle marked "MILLS" with patent dates. On the belt is a sheathed bayonet for a Krag - the blade is marked "U.S." and "1900". Also included in this wonderful rig is a U.S. Model 1917 leather belt holster dated 1944 with maker Milwaukee Saddlery Company. It's all here and would make a nice addition to some of our upcoming Krag rifles! Wow! A splendid piece of U.S. military history that our officers carried in WWI and WWII.
