U.S. Smith and Wesson Model 1917, .45 acp cal. double action military revolver.  Serial #149616, mfg. 1917.  Very good condition.  5 1/2" barrel with very good bore.  70% Dull thinning finish with heavy wear on the grip straps and trigger guard. Fixed sights.  "U.S. Property" marked on bottom of barrel.  Lanyard ring.  Smooth wood grips show heavy wear with multiple dings.  A highly utilized sidearm for the U.S. in WWI and WWII. Lots of military history here! C&R OK.
