U.S. M1 Carbine, .30 carbine cal., military semi-auto carbine.  Serial #2789738, mfg. Underwood in 1943.  Very good condition.  18" barrel has a very good bore, eared fixed front and adjustable rear military sights.  85% blue finish on the barrel and receiver.  The receiver also has an "O" below the serial number.   Smooth hand guard has some hits/ wear and the wood stock is in very good shape.  Parts count:  barrel - Underwood 11-43, front sight - unmarked, adjustable rear sight - unmarked, front band with bayonet lug - unmarked, round bolt - U, bolt carrier - A03, hammer - WA, trigger housing - Inland, switch safety - unmarked, magazine release - M, two rivet hand guard - unmarked, stock - unmarked. Missing the magazine.  Has a checkered steel butt plate.  Import marked on the barrel.  Likely a veteran of WWII and beyond.  C&R OK.
