Description
U.S. Smith & Wesson Schofield Second Model, .45 S&W cal. single action revolver. Serial #7893, mfg. 1877. Antique. Very good condition. Historically significant Schofield that lands right in the middle of the Indian Wars! 7" ribbed barrel has a very good bore with just some slight pitting about halfway down the tube. Barrel is mostly patina and has the "Schofield 1873" patent on the right side off the barrel shroud and the "Smith & Wesson '71" patent on the left side. "U.S." marked on the butt. Frame has 80% blue. Cylinder is mostly a patina finish with blue in the flutes. Nice mechanics. Top break action for quick reloading. Fixed rear sight on checkered thumb break knobs and pinned half moon front sight. Walnut grips have some marks and "DAL" inspector mark and the date of "1877". Very historical sidearm that surely saw service in the Indian Wars and survived in great shape! Wow! Antique, so can ship right to your kitchen table. Gunrunner West item.
