The ultimate safari or big brownie thumper with 24" barrels, excellent bore, fixed rear leaf sight with white outline and high front blade sight with brass accent. Satin finished European walnut has a left cheekpiece and soft recoil pad. Double triggers. Includes scope mount and rings that fit on barrel mount (quite a bit of value here alone!). Nickel finished engraved receiver. Only slight detractions are some light clean-up rubbings on the left side of the rib and barrel near the scope mount recess and one deep nick on the stock (see photos). Has been on safari and has taken two buffs, but shot very little and lovingly cared for. Includes an aluminum Americase with red crushed velvet interior, factory manual, test target, case keys, paperwork, nickel snap caps and regulation tool for the barrel front to adjust bullet impacts. Very handsome antique SAA with an old blue job, 5 1/2" barrel, matching serials and smooth walnut grips. Bore has some light pitting, but strong rifling - will throw a slug just fine. Fixed sights. Front sight has been filed to a point. Gun has been reblued some time ago and is 90% with a cylinder drag mark, edge and muzzle wear - has worn in nicely. Colt letter indicates hard rubber grips came out of the factory, but now they're walnut. This SAA was originally shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. of Chicago on March 3, 1898. U.S. Johnson Rifle M1941 Sporter, 7mm Mauser cal. semi-auto rifle. Serial #4837. Good condition. The most collectible WWII military rifle of all time and this specimen is in the highly desirable sporter version. 23” barrel has an excellent shiny bore. The receiver has several spots of heavy pitting that has been cleaned and polished leaving those areas without any blue. The blue on the barrel has faded to 40%. The walnut stock has been sporterized and has some movement from behind the internal magazine. A few light dings and scratches. Ventilated handguard. Rubber recoil pad has been added. A pretty rare variant in 7mm Mauser cal. that were produced directly after the war. Johnson military wood is available and it could be converted back to military configuration. Nice collector! Gun #1 has 29 ½” Krupp steel barrels with shiny smooth bores, 70% finish with some fine surface rust. Barrels are marked with the “Krupp-Essen” steel symbol and the address “Johann Haberda Frauenberg Bohmen” and “Furst Schwarzenberg Scher Hotbuchsenmacher” . Barrels are stamped “1” on top rib. 2 9/16” chambers. Barrels side inscription indicates gun built on Sauer patents. Barrel sling swivel mounting is a replacement. Receiver has cocking indicators with double triggers and ejectors. Receiver and side locks have no remaining finish and have beautifully executed fine scroll coverage with some fine surface rust. Trigger guard and pivoting lever forend lock have extensive fine scroll coverage with some fine surface rust. Trigger guard is slightly dented. Lock up by double under-bolts and hidden cross bolt. Stock and forearm have good original dark walnut with nice figure, numerous minor hits and dings. Extensive checkering on straight grip and forearm is slightly worn. Cheek piece has old leather pad attached. Beautiful old horn checkered butt plate has some holes. LOP is 14”. Brass plate on top to stock has crown and “W” symbol. Gun locks up tightly, although top lever spring needs replacing. Ejectors work perfectly. Gun # 2 is identical in all respects, except barrels are stamped “2” and front sling swivel appears to be original. Krupp steel barrels have shiny smooth bores with same markings as #1. Receiver and locks have no remaining finish and identical fine scroll engraving coverage. Stock and forearm have similar figure and extensive checkering. Leather pad attached as on #1. Horn butt plate with holes as on #1. Lock up is tight, but top lever spring needs replacing also. EJECTORS ARE NOT WORKING on #2. An absolutely beautiful and elegant old numbered pair of doubles! Slide is marked "svw 46", post-war assembled from Mauser parts. Frame has 90% dull blue finish with some use high edge and use wear. Steel grips are in very good shape with light wear and scratches. Good refinished condition. 4" vent rib barrel has excellent bore, fixed front and adjustable rear sight. 98% blue re-finish with light handling wear and a light cylinder ring. The Colt emblem and markings have been polished down, but are still readable. Pitting under the finish is evident on the left side of the barrel and also areas on the cylinder. The revolver was likely sitting in a holster or rag that ate into the finish. The grip screw on the left side of the frame is a bit buggered up. Pachmayr grips are in great shape. Locks up nice and tight. This old revolver was likely carried or stored rather than shot much. Super shooter! C&R OK.

L.C. Smith Featherweight Ejector, 20 ga. side by side shotgun. Serial # FWE68749, mfg. 1924. Very good restored condition. 26” barrels have shiny bores, 50% cold-blued finish with corrosion areas, faint address markings. 2 ¾” chambers choked MOD & FULL. Receiver, lock plates and forend hardware have near 100% re-done case coloring. Trigger guard has been re-blued. Stock and forearm have been nicely re-finished and checkering re-cut. LOP is 13 ¾”. Repaired hairline cracks in rear of forearm and behind lock plates. Lock up is tight and ejectors work OK. Lovely, restored L.C. Smith – ready for the grouse woods! C&R OK.

Description

Colt Single Action Army, .44-40 cal. revolver. Serial #215562, mfg. 1901. Renickled to very good condition. Barrel has been shortened from 7 1/2" to 6". Bore is good with some pitting towards the muzzle. Nickel finish is older and is 85% with grip strap wear. Buffed quite a bit, so prancing Colt is gone and some of the frame's patent marks. Nice vivid barrel address. Cocks nicely. Appears to have a new hammer and trigger. Smooth walnut grips have the wrong screw and fastener - hole in butt of right panel. No cylinder pin, but that's an easy fix. Indexes nicely. Some screws are burred a bit. Good potential here! Gunrunner West item.
