U.S. Springfield Model 1873, .45-70 cal. single shot military carbine. Serial #100492, mfg. 1879. Antique. Good condition. Interesting Trapdoor from the Indian War period when it was the standard cavalary weapon. 22" round barrel has a good bore. Saddle ring and bar on left side. "C" marked flip-up ladder sight. Works well. Stock has a big crack on the right side just forward of the lockplate extending to the forearm (see photo). Initial on buttstock. U.S. marked steel buttplate with trap. Works nicely. Bluing now going to a nice smooth patina. Blade front sight. Great for re-enactments! Black Powder. Antique, so can ship right to your doorstep. Gunrunner West item.
